week one ♡ saturday ♡ raven
[he's completely wiped. the trial, the aftermath of the trial—everything else that came before, and what came after...
he wouldn't even need his fussy cat-bro to tell him to go to bed on a night like this. not in theory, at least.
but even though he's managed to make it back to the hut in one piece, he's just kind of flopped there. he should probably care more because of what happened, but no. he's doing the thing and staying there. he's idly twirling a pen he took from the longhouse between his fingers while held up over his head.]
Ughh...
[raven will probably show up to akira emitting a quiet, distressed groan.
why?
mostly because he has a headache, honestly. this poor caffeine-deprived teenager is just dealing with that sort of deprivation on top of the headache that was a hot longhouse, a terrible trial, the fury of a thousand suns roaring in his eyes after the murderer reveal—
they're fine, everything is fine.]

When she enters into the hut and sees him laying on his bed like that, she speaks up with a soft voice.]
Akira?
no subject
he'll just shove that headache-induced groan to the side like it's nothing.]
Hey.... welcome back.
[as welcome as one can be in a hut like this.
he's doing his best!!]
no subject
Do you want to talk about it?
[He wanted to focus on another subject yesterday, but things feel much different than they did then. It can't hurt to ask.]
no subject
[it's a bit of a humorless laugh as he forces himself to sit more upright.]
A week with no coffee, that hot room all day, everything else that happened— [haru's death, corpses, the events of the trial and how he snapped a bit...]
None of us are superhuman. [not like this, in this scenario, at least.
it does seem like he's trying his best to pick himself up a bit, if nothing else. it's not easy, but how could it be when haru died like that? but he's dwelling on a few things right now, so it's probably only a matter of time before it comes up.]
no subject
[Even with the limited supply they were provided with. That's really the least of the reasons she's concerned for him, though, so she moves on.]
If anybody is telling you that you have to be superhuman right now, they can go float themselves. [It's such a familiar phrase that she uses it, not considering that he might not know what it means.] You should at least try to get some rest.
no subject
[but anyway:]
Nobody's telling me that, nobody needs to float themselves. It just means I can't avoid things like getting headaches when the situation's like this.
[a pause, and:] It was December for me before. The weather whiplash probably hasn't helped much.
[going from more frigid, wintry air to being locked in a stuffy, humid building for hours on end sucks too.]
no subject
[She nods.]
I doubt they'd give you anything for it, but you could try asking them for some kind of painkiller. Maybe someone here knows a plant that can help with that kind of thing, too.
no subject
[the way he spits that out makes it pretty clear that he's still pretty furious about what they did.]
no subject
[Especially after everything that's happened.]
no subject
[akira, what if your sense of humor right now.]
no subject
I'm... definitely glad you don't have any serious injuries, yes.
[Well, physical, at least.]
no subject
I'm not that reckless, don't worry.
[he's absolutely that reckless, he just cares more about protecting her well-being than throwing his own into chaos.]
no subject
[it's all of this, and how it must be weighing on him.]
no subject
I'm going to move forward as much as I need to. [which is to say that he's not going to forget or get over it easily, but he won't let it hold them back.] This is only the beginning—I'm not planning on letting them beat me.
no subject
Good. We'll both make it long enough to kick their asses.
no subject
Looks like we don't have much choice if we're gonna make sure they get what's coming to them.
